As the race for electoral positions raced towards 2016, some youths vying for change pulled out due to what they termed, ‘state orchestrated intimidation’.
While some explained why they pulled out, the whereabouts of others like Ronald Damulira remains a mystery.
Damulira was last seen on August 4, 2015 while attending a sensitization drive against Gender Based Violence (GBV) as a Chief Guest where he declared his hitherto concealed ambitions of standing for elective politics in Kampala.
According to sources, Damulira worked with the National Security Information System since April 2014 and little was known about his family. “What is puzzling is that security operatives keep visiting his former apartment,” a former workmate said without divulging details.
