Woman Arrested For Defiling 12-year-old Boy

A 32-year-old woman in Apac district has been charged with with aggravated defilement of a 12 year old boy.

The woman Harriet Agoa was presented before the Apac District Grade One Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Agoa was charged with aggravated defilement of a 12-year-old boy who is in primary four.

Grade One Magistrate Robert Mukanza did not allow the woman to enter any plea because the case can only be tried by High Court.

Agoa was sent on  remand to Atopi Government Prison. She will appear in court for hearing of her case on December 19th 2014.

Gloria Akello, Apac resident state attorney, presented to court medical documents that show that Agoa and the minor are HIV positive.

Akello told court that Agoa was known to have withdrawn the boy from his school for one week and kept him at her residence at Temogo Cell, Western Ward Apac Town Council.

Agoa is a trader at Olel-pek market.

The boy is said to have readily confessed to police that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with Agoa.

Titus Byaruhanga, the Apac district police commander, backed up the boy’s confession and said police had evidence this was fact.

But Agoa denied the charge to the police. She said that she had only been trying to help a needy child.

Byaruhanga said that Agoa had been charged with aggravated defilement of a 12 year old boy contrary to penal code act section 129 sub section IV. She could spend the rest of her life in prison if found guilty of the charge.
