UCU Graduates Another 355

UCU PRESS RELEASE: Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mbale University College will graduate 355 students from 17 undergraduate, diploma and certificate programs and one graduate program this Friday, November 10th, 2017.

The graduands include one deaf student who is graduating with bachelor of Business Administration. The 161 males (45%) and 195 (55%) females at this Friday’s graduation make up the second graduation ceremony at the UCU Mbale campus this year. It is also the seventh UCU graduation ceremony in 2017 across UCU Campuses and Constituent Colleges. UCU Mbale University College started in 2003 with 46 students and two programs. Today, the college has more than 2,000 students.

Ten of those bachelor’s level students will receive First Class degrees.

The graduation starts at 9:00 a.m. and will be presided over by UCU Chancellor and Archbishop of the Church of Uganda the Most Reverend Stanley Ntagali.

The guest of honour is Justice James Ogoola, the former Principal Judge of the High Court of Uganda and a Justice of the COMESA Court of Justice in Lusaka, Zambia. Presently the Chairperson Uganda Elder’s Forum, Justice Ogoola also previously served as the chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission of Uganda.

The largest single group of 105 will get the Bachelor of Business Administration. Other bachelor degrees will be awarded in Education, Arts with Education, Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Public Administration and Management, Business Computing, Entrepreneurship and Project Planning, Economics and Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, and Human Resource Management. Diplomas will be awarded in the five areas of Education, Business Administration, Project Planning and Management, Entrepreneurship and Information Technology and Child Development and Children’s Ministry. A dozen students will receive certificates in Child Development and Children’s Ministry. One student is slated to receive a Master of Development Studies.
