SsentongoUganda Striker Robert Ssentongo is likely to return to former club KCCA as replacement for departed Herman Wasswa.

Ssentongo is currently without club after being discarded by Ethiopian champions Saint George where fellow Uganda internationals Robert Odongkara and Isaac Isinde play. The minute striker who helped KCC win the league in 2007/8 season struggled to settle in Ethiopia since leaving Uganda Revenue Authority in 2012 and has played for Young Africans and Simba in Tanzania as well.

According to Allan Ssewanyana, the KCCA FC Vice Chairman and Acting spokesman, Ssentongo’s experience in the CAF Champions League will spur KCCA’s upcoming season on the continent.

“Yes its true Ssentongo is top on our list for Herman’s replacement and we hope he will strengthen our CAF squad,” Ssewanyana confirmed in an exclusive interview.

KCCA have lost both Herman and Hassan Wasswa to Vietnamese clubs while negotiations to sign Cranes internationals Moses Oloya and Patrick Ochan seem to have stalled over monetary deficiencies.
