Simba FC failed to record their first away victory of the season following a 2-1 defeat to Kira United in an Elgon group FUFA Big League encounter at Kira grounds on Thursday.

Striker Emanuel Obitre scored twice for the Godfrey Kireewa Maato’s home side while Guinean forward Laye Singare scored Simba’s consolation.

This was Kira’s 4th win of the season as they replaced Simba in 4th place from 7th as the latter dropped a place to 5th.

Despite winning all their five home games, Simba have failed to win away from home- something Coach Eric Ndifuna wants to change in second round.

“It is absurd that we have failed to win away from home the whole first round, something that is costing us unless we put it right,” he said.

Simba welcome Kyambogo FC in their last game of first round this Saturday at Masharik grounds, seeking to maintain their 100% winning home record.

Meanwhile, leaders Maroons FC remained unbeaten at the 12 team Elgon group after a 5-2 deserving away victory against Kyambogo.

The Prisoners lead with 24 points, five points better of second placed Ndejje University after 10 games.
