Security has been tightened at and around Mandela National Stadium, Nambole ahead of the Uganda Cranes match against Ghana tomorrow at 4pm.

AIGP Andrew Sorowen, the police Sports Liaison officer with the Ministry of Education and sports has assured the Uganda cranes supporters of maximum security both in and outside the Stadium and even on their way home after the game.

“We assure the football fans that we are working around the clock to ensure a safe environment before, during and after the match. There have always been cases of robbers and petty thieves snatching properties from fans, but this will not happen since we have deployed both overt and covert operatives,” Sorowen said.

He advised fans to desist from moving with heavy and unacceptable sharp objects like knives, bottles and big drums that could easily be used to harm others.

Sorowen said no spectator shall be allowed to access the stadium with drinks in bottles or food in metallic objects for security purposes.
