Students Die in Rakai School Fires
A fire at St Bernard”s Manya Secondary School in Rakai District, South West of Kampala has killed more than 10 students.
Eye witnesses describe the situation as very sad as school community and country comes to terms with a fire that was started with intention to hurt children.
Manya Secondary School is one of the best schools in Rakai District and Greater Masaka with support from German sponsors.
One of its dormitory caught fire last night, rescue efforts from community members responded in time but the arsonists is believed to have put a padlock first.
This led to suffocation and severe burns.
First pointers are alleging that an expelled Senior Four student set the school on fire in Rakai district killing at least 10 and leaving over 50 injured
Latif Zaake, the Regional Police Commander in a brief confirmed the incident.
