Pepsi-Cineplex sign Shs200m deal

Not only will movies goers love 2013 American science fiction action-thriller film Elysium but they will also drink free 500ml PET Pepsi soda at Cineplex’s two locations at The Hub (Oasis Mall) and at Garden City in Kampala.

This is after Pepsi Cola announced a Shs200 million strategic beverage supply and marketing partnership with Cineplex.

“As the exclusive supplier of soda to Cineplex Cinemas, we shall deliver value to our movie-going customers and consumers,” said Mr Innocent Tibayeita, the head of sales and marketing at Crown Beverages Limited, the bottlers of Pepsi.

“Pepsi is using cinema to connect with its consumers because going to cinema is one of the lifestyles people engage in and love,” he added.

All elements of the partnership will feature Pepsi’s new global tag line, “Live For Now.”

Crown Beverages’ formal announcement of the partnership with Cineplex comes at a time when the company is championing the Pepsi global marketing campaign in Uganda. Pepsi announced its first global campaign in April.

The campaign invites and inspires Pepsi fans to live each moment to the fullest through a breadth of global, pop-culture platforms.

Pepsi is one of the world’s leading brands also sponsored the premiere of Elysium, a box office hit  written, co- produced and directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster at the two Cineplex locations in Kampala.
