Okwi Delighted After Fifa Clearance

oKwiiCranes star striker Emmanuel Okwi says he is delighted after Fifa yesterday cleared him to feature for Tanzanian League champions Young Africans.

 “I am very happy that I can finally concentrate on football and improve my talent with my new club,” Okwi said from Tanzania.

The player will however miss Young Africans second leg clash away to against Komorozine Sports of Comoros in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Okwi has been involved in a transfer dispute involving three clubs.
“Fifa has finally cleared Okwi to play for Young Africans in domestic and international club championships,” said the Tanzania FA.
Last month, the Tanzania FA advised the Tanzanian League champions Young Africans not to field Okwi to allow it seek clarity from Fifa over his status.
Okwi was granted a six month provisional permit by Fifa to feature for SC Villa late last year following disagreements with Tunisian club Etoile Du Sahel who alleged the striker breached his contract.
The controversy erupted after Etoile du Sahel insisted that he was still their legitimate player while another Tanzanian team Simba that sold the player claimed they had not received the agreed $300,000 transfer fee from the Tunisian club.
The Confederation of African Football also went ahead to stop Okwi from featuring in the 2014 Africa Nations Championships until his status had been sorted out.
