Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze has been flown to India to receive specialized treatment following injuries she sustained when operatives stormed the chamber of parliament and forcefully evicted MPs who are against the tabling of a motion intending to lift Age limit from the constitution.
Nambooze who is against the lifting of Age limit says she was attacked in the lobby of Parliament by operatives on the orders of Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Frank Mwesigwa and her spine was dislocated in the scuffle.
Nambooze posted on her facebook page that she was assaulted by over six operatives and thrown in the parking lot of Parliament causing the injury. She has spent the last several weeks admited at Bugolobi Medical Centre. Medical doctors who have examined her say her condition can only be treated in specialised countries like india. And Namboole today against went on social media to announce her departure to India for medical care.
She’s scheduled to fly out today aboard an Emirates flight to Dubai from where she will connect to another flight to Bengaluru in India.
