Muntu Bails Nabila Out Of Coolers

Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu has proved that he still commands great respect in security circles. This was observed when he stormed CPS where Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Naggayi who doubles as his taskforce strategist was detained Yesterday  as she tried to defy police orders by protesting at Constitutional Square in the heart of the city.

Muntu reminded the trembling officers that they [bush war historicals] fought for peace of the country so no one should violate it. He added that they are masters of the country and they have to reclaim it.

“This is not the peace we fought for; the freedom that took us to the bush to achieve. We are masters of this country,” he said. The FDC presidential hopeful didn’t rule out joining protests, when asked by Red Pepper. “Why not? I will also join my colleagues to express our rights because the country has lost sense of direction,” he added. He negotiated for the release of Nabilah with no any charges preferred against her.

  1. Dear Mutu, you are absolutely right, the sense of rule of law in Uganda is going out of hand when we have political masters, generals, doctors, engineers, journalist, teachers and many more proffessional who could play a significante role to see this country is reclaim from bad regime or atleast restore good governance for her citizens, we could not believe this is NRA which came with 10 points programs which every citizen was looking forward for its achievement and results, but most of those ideas were neglected or remain in white paper.

  2. I thought the freedom they fought for was a “sacrifice” – for the good of the nation?. What does he mean they are “masters” of the country?

Was Nabilah not arrested for breach of peace? Even NRM guys donot hold rallies at the consititutional square bse its right in the middle of the city.

Looks like every one now days has their own defination of the word “freedom”.

    1. THANKS GEN FOR BAILING HER OUT. THIS DOES NOT PROVE THAT HE COMMANDS RESPECT IN SECURITY AS YOU EDITOR IS INSNUATING. ANY BODY CAN BAIL OUT SOME BODY. I HAVE DONE IT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE IN UGANDA. HOWEVER I THINK THEY DID GO TO THE BUSH ALSO TO RESTORE THE RULE OF LAW. SO IF ONE DIFIES POLICE ORDERS IN MY VIEW, GEN SHOULD NOT PROTECT HIM OR HER. THE LAW IS A DOUBLE ADGES SWARD. I HAVE HAD MUCH RESPECT FOR GEN MUNTU, BUT IF HE LOWERS HIMSELF TO GO THE STREETS. IT WILL BE AN EMBERASSING SCENARIO. I WOULD WISH A REPEAT OF KAZINI THOSE TWO GEN WERE MY IDLES.

  3. Bravo afande Muntu!! The peace you fought for is in one man’s pocket who has the vision for ‘his’ country!!
