MUKONO!!!: Mbabazi Crowds shock Top NRM officials

As presidential campaigns have entered day three; Yesterday former Prime Minister’s rally in Mukono sent cold shivers down spines of National Resistance Movement top officials.

Mbabazi who is contesting as an independent candidate under Go Forward slogan left the ruling party in August after failure to agree with NRM top brass on election regulations to guidelines.

In Mukono, Mbabazi procession arrived at around 5:00pm to address a mammoth crowd that was waiting waiting for him.

Earlier in the day, scores of NRM diehards went on streets to express love and support to president Museveni.

People were seen climbing mango trees to catch a glimpse of Amama Mbabazi who promised a peaceful transfer of power.

One of the journalists trailing Mbabazi described the crowds as “huge.”

One of the NRM officials was heard arguing that crowds do not matter.

He referred to the just concluded presidential elections in Tanzania where opposition candidate Edward Lowassa pulled crowds but in the end lost to ruling party candidate John Pombe Magufuli.

Today, Mbabazi takes rally to Mityana while President Museveni will be in Lira and Dokolo districts in northern Uganda.

Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate will be in Kisoro district.
