As campaigns enter second week, presidential candidates John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and Prof Venensious Baramureba will resume their campaigns today.
Mbabazi, the Go Forward candidate took a break over the weekend after traversing a number of districts in Buganda.
One Friday, he was in Luweero, National Resistance Movement (NRM) strong hold.
He had promised to launch his manifesto on Saturday but he later called off the function.
Mbabazi said he wanted to allow peer review. “We are also using this time to allow our TDA partners to integrate their ideas into the manifesto,” he said.
Today, Mbabazi will be in Hoima district, on Tuesday, he will be Gulu, in Lira on Wednesday, in Arua on Thursday, Kabarole on Friday and Kasese on Saturday.
Former Makerere University vice chancellor Prof. Venensious Baryamureba who suspended campaigns after holding one rally in Kayunga district last week over security concerns will be in Lira.
Prof Barya who is contesting as an independent had argued that “Presidential candidates are Very Important Persons (VIP) must be provided with sufficient security.”
