Managers Arrested Over City Bar Shooting

Police has confirmed the arrest of two pub managers and two private security guards who had been deployed at Top pub,a popular hangout on William Street.  Two people were shot dead  on Sunday morning at Top pub and  and six others injured 

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba told RedPepper Online that the unidentified man who pulled the trigger is still on the run. the suspect left his pistol behind. The guards are in police custody to help with investigations.

according to eyewitnesses, the shooter   opened fire on the crowd following a disagreement with another client over a commercial sex worker .

The 5.00am incident at the popular joint frequented by commercial sex workers and security personnel according to Police left one on-spot dead a bouncer identified as Johnson Mukooma while another victim identified as John Rukundo died of injuries on arrival at Mulago.

Those who survived with serious injuries are Alice Kobusingye, Daniel Owor, Fransa Nakanje, Siani Ndagire, Moses Ssali and one other victim identified only as Nyangoma.

Nabakooba said the shooter who fled the melee scene left his licensed firearm belonging to Hash Security Group.

“Police investigations are  still going on as we check with our records to establish the owner and who that assailant was. Managers of Hash Security Group have also been notified to come and tell us who the person is,” she said.
