Man Killed, Hanged On Tree

Lira: A yet to be identified man believed to be in his mid 30’s was found hanging dead in a tree in Lira town.
He was found hanged, Clothes in the mouth, arms tied on his back and legs tied too at Lira Town College play grounds, near V.H Public Primary school.
Both Police and locals who stormed the scene on Saturday morning could not identify the deceased as no identification document was found with him.
The deceased was seen hanging on the tree by one of the workers at a washing bay who preferred to stay anonymous.
“I had come for daily work as usual but my eyes caught him hanged. I immediately alerted my colleagues and later mammoth populace came in,” he said
With both two Police out posts and Lira Central Police Station less than 800 meters far from the crime scene, it took Police nearly three hours to visit the crime scene and cordoned it off after.
David Ongom Mudong, the North Kyoga Police spokesperson confirmed the murder and said investigation into the matter will be completed soon.
Meanwhile, the postmortem report conducted indicates that his neck was broken by unknown assailants.
