Western Uganda-based diva, Dorrys Mutahunga, is on Cloud 9 following a direct phone call from President Yoweri Museveni on Monday this week for a music project.
Red Pepper understands Dorrys, together with her two brothers, were invited by the president himself to State House Entebbe on Monday and the trio arrived later in the evening.
However, the trio was later moved to State House Nakasero where the president had moved to meet other groups.
Our snoops tell us that Museveni told the siblings that he was a fan of Dorrys’ folk music which has potential to promote and preserve culture in Uganda.
The president is apparently interested in using the diva to kick start a countrywide project of using folk music to preserve Uganda’s multiple cultures.
Dorrys who was excited about the meeting took to her facebook page and updated her profile picture with that of her and M7.
She said: “The King’s heart is in the hand of the lord. The Lord directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases Prov : 21 :1. A light moment last evening with the MABANGAS at State House Nakasero.”
Dorrys is a graduate of Music from Makerere University and holds a Masters of Education Planning & Administration from Mbarara University.
