Parliament was flooded this afternoon following a heavy down pour that lasted for over an hour. Water entered through the South Wing Foyer and accumulated at the reception displacing the police desk at the main entrance.

It also flowed to the visitor’s room behind the South Wing Reception. Cleaners from Multi tech System Services struggled to clear the water and stop it from entering the offices of MPs and visitors room.

The water affected movement from the south wing to the North Wing. One could still not use the bridge connecting both wings as it was so windy and raining heavily.

Other parts of Parliament that flooded were the steps going up the building on the South Wing.  Rain water found its way through the ventilators.
