Katongole Ssemuyaba, a resident of Kizito zone in Luweero town and a member of the notorious B13 group was shot at 3:25am, Wednesday morning when he attempted to break into a residential home.

The Luweero District Police Commander Justus Asiimwe explains that Ssemuyaba and others still at large attempted to break into Prossy Nandere’s residence in Modern zone, Luweero. The neighbors however heard the breakage and alerted Kasana Police Post.

He explains that police officers responded just in time and found Ssemuyaba in action. He was ordered to surrender but instead, attacked the officers with a machete. He was shot in retaliation while the other burglars escaped during the scuffle that ensued.

He applauded residents for the level of vigilance exhibited and committed to intensify community policing to ensure people notify police in time when they suspect a criminal in their vicinity.

Early this year Dennis Ssesanga, a resident of Kiwogozi zone and the suspected leader of the notorious Bad Boys (B-13) was hacked to death in an attack that police thought was masterminded by his colleagues after failing to share loot.

Charles Ssebyala the Luweero Town Council LC 3 Chairperson supported the use of fire on B13 gangsters saying they are a deadly group that equally does not spare human life.

Annet Komuhangi, another resident called for intensified night patrol in key areas especially where group members have hiding spots.

B13 gangsters have been accused of masterminding robberies, burglaries and murders especially in Luweero Town Council.

Recently the In charge of Luweero Central Market Police post  identified as Corporal Hussein Saddam Ssewaka, police constables David Ntege Kula, William Kaweesi  and an informer Charles Wasswa, all attached to Luweero Central Police Station as accomplices who were leaking information to gang.
