FDC Finalize Plans to Drag M7 to ICC Over Kasese Massacre

Members of parliament from Rwenzori region are in final stages of filing a case at The Hague based International Criminal Court (ICC) over recent Kasese clashes.

The Leader of Opposition in parliament, also the Kasese woman MP, Winnie Kiiza has today revealed that she has visited the International Criminal Division (ICD) in Kampala to learn how ICC works as they finalize the case file.

“Today I have been at the ICD to learn about the collaboration between the two (ICC and ICD) and understand how the ICC works,” she said.

Kiiza further revealed that the Kasese MPs and Rwenzururu King Lawyers are set to meet with the ICC registrar who is currently in the country to talk to him about the possible legal suit against president Museveni.

The MPs and king lawyers accuse Museveni of ordering the palace attack after a failed dialogue with the king Charles Wesley Mumbere.

The attack eventually left over 100 people dead and 139 arrested.

Among the arrested was the king who was charged with murder and remanded to prison till December 13.

His lawyers however want him released as soon as possible pending another dialogue between the government and Rwenzururu kingdom.
