Entebbe Airport In Lock Down At Night,21 Immigration Counters Abandoned By Workers

Uganda’s show frustration they go through at Entebbe Airport after Tourism Magnet Amos Wekesa tells experience Ugandan visitors went through.

Amos Wekesa posted this appealing to any Uganda who could save situation after Immigration and Civil Aviation Authority workers abandoned their responsibilities.

Can someone send me a contact of the responsible person at ministry of internal affairs…..

This morning we arrived from Nairobi a plane full and only one counter out of 22 counters was working

The lady in the picture had paid for a visa online which is a good thing for Uganda but spent over 45 minutes with an empty booth. This lady was so angry and I apologized on behave of Uganda.

There were over 6 officers hanging around and I therefore engaged them and shocked by the response and simply walked out.

Under PIRT, we advocated for many stations and expected that this rubbish wouldn’t happen! I was one of the last persons on the line but left her behind.

But I know it’s not always like this though this must be sorted out. There are some very good immigration officers at that airport but these ones must be told how their actions affect the country.

Countries like Singapore we so admire, it will take you 15 minutes from the time from the time you leave your plane to your waiting car.

There are countries which afford this kind of service because they have lots of traffic and people will endure but we can’t be poor and have a bad attitude.

There are so many young people looking for jobs, why keep the bad ones? How can we claim we want investors and tourists so we earn?

Can some tag the right person please?

Muhuminu Kawenja Uganda as a country is poor, but again people have abad attitude, most of recruitment officials do offer jobs to either their relatives or tribe mates, their promotions are also tribe based, all these lead to port attitude because all what they have acquired is not due to their capability

Jannette Mugisha Amos, never land in ebbs at night after 11 or early morning from 4am. you will be disgusted at their behavior, rudeness (like you owe them anything)

I even earned my self a bad comment by one immigration officer who claimed I was drunk.

that day I gave her a piece of my mind but the bad comment has never left my PP trail in their system. everytime I pass by they always read it out loud and I demand the respect I deserve.

Bazira Geoffrey It is this kind of attitude that has kept us poor and made our young people go for degrading jobs in Arab countries. This behaviour is all govt departments. Can someone have a second look at the laws governing civil servants? If you do not achieve you ship out. Period.

Victoria Chany My husband originates from South Sudan but with American citizenship last month he faced some very rude immigration officer while trying to get his Visa. When he naratted the story to me I was like are you kidding me? But he is the calm one so he just looked on and smiled but he said Kenyatta Airport is way much better than Entebbe!

Wanyama Lyn People take their jobs for granted. After losing them they blame everyone. But surely, as Ugandans we have a very long way to go. Unless we change our attitude we may never catch up with this world moving at lightening speed.
