The commandant Entebbe Aviation Police Colleb Mwesigye Kamindi has died.
Mwesigye, 37, died early this morning at Nakasero Hospital where he has been receiving treatment for the last several weeks.
According to family sources, Mwesigye developed a tumor in his brain and was in the Intensive Care Unit at Nakasero Hospital for the last three weeks undergoing treatment.
“Its something we feared most and it finally came to pass this morning, he died surrounded by family and close friends,’ said the source.
“He fought a brave fight, the doctors told us they’d do their best and they did try to keep him with us but we all knew it would come to this because his condition was not improving and he was too weak to be expatriated to another hospital,” the source said.
Police spokesman, Asan Kasingye, confirmed the passing of Mwesigye in a statement.
Burial arrangements have not been announce as yet.
