Business Woman Netted Over Land Grabbing

A Business woman behind a Chinese company accused of evicting more than 3000 households in Mubende since 2014 to date, has been arrested on the orders of the commission inquiring into land matters, to pave way for investigations of land grabbing, murder, false declarations, assault and illegal arrest among others.
Commission Chair Justice Catherine Bamugemereire directed that she should provide information to the Commission investigators to establish the facts behind the land conflicts in Mubende.
Anna Kyohairwe had appeared for questioning in respect to complaints made by the locals in Mubende District.
It’s alleged that tens of thousands of people from Butorogo and Madudu Subcounties were displaced from 9 villages some of whom are in jail over offences regarding land conflicts.
Others were forced to sign sale agreements of their Bibanjas and Property while on hospital beds and other Bibanjas were forcefully taken.
