Aronda told reporters at parliament that a full statement into the matter is going to come to parliament so that the public can know the progress of investigations and those behind the attacks.

“We suspect this is the organized crime that has been there since December 2014. From December, they were in Mayuge, Namayingo and police managed to arrest some but we think those who are still at large are the ones behind this murder. Police and intelligence have intensified investigations and soon government is coming out with a statement on this murder” he said.

He however added that the murder of the late prosecutor could have been aided by what he called a security lapse. He said whereas the late was given guards, at the time of her murder, she didn’t have them.

“This is a security lapse. She had guards but this time, she chose to move without them. May be she wanted to talk to her children on some personal matters,” he noted.

Kagezi who has been investigating the terror charges against suspected terrorists was gunned down on Monday in Kiwatule a Kampala suburb at her neighbourhood fruit stall.

She was in the car with her children who were fortunate to escape the attack unscathed.

She will be buried today at her ancestral home in Buloba along Mityana road
