Nigerian Uroko Onoja was having sex with the youngest of his spouses when the remaining five are reported to have set upon him with knives and sticks – and demanded that he have sex with each of them too.

Mr Onoja went on to have intercourse with four of his wives in succession, but ‘stopped breathing’ as the fifth was making her way to the bed in Ogbadibo, according to Nigeria’s Daily Post.

Two women have been arrested following the incident in the state of Benue last week, said the report, which used the term ‘raped to death’ to describe the businessman’s fate.

Mr Onoja is understood to have returned from a bar in the small community of Ugbugbu, Ogbadibo, at around 3am on Tuesday, and headed for the bedroom of his youngest wife.

His five other wives – who were said to have held a meeting to discuss their intentions before their husband arrived home – are then alleged to have burst into the bedroom armed with knives and sticks to insist that they too be granted their conjugal rights.

The businessman, who has been described as a philanthropist who ‘contributed positively’ to the growth of his local community, is thought to have resisted the demands of his wives’ before being overpowered.

Mr Onoja reportedly stopped breathing and could not be resuscitated after having sex with four of his wives in a row.

His youngest spouse is quoted as saying her five fellow wives ran into the forest when they realised their husband was dead.

The head of his village, Okpe Odoh, told the Daily Post the matter had been reported to police.

    1. Very few men are truly monogamous. Majority of those pretending to have only one woman are having relationships on the side and the women they are with are believing their lies or living lives of self denial.
And I doubt polygamy can ever stop. It’s one of those things that has been around since time immemorial.

      1. True rarely a man has one women, but to marry five is a lot. In the end it was disaster waiting to happen as obvious you can keep everyone happy. It is our responsibility as ladies NOT to enter such a marriage which is over crowded.

    2. Where do ya want other ladies to go, make do without men, the ladies enter such marriages willingly, they are not forced! The fifth wife knew well there were four others before her and she also joined the long queue!

      1. We don’t the population of Nigeria but I believe there is always men around just like women. It comes to one own boil ‘selfishness’.

    3. Not again! Polygamy is part of the African culture and just like any other practice it can be bad or good, any one who did African culture is well informed about this practice, there are advantages and disadvantages one not being dying after sex, i have read so much about old men(caucasian) mostly who also die during sex. This is not strange and dont blame it on polygamy, infact phrasing it as bad makes me wonder why you look at it that way, or is it because of the colonial thinking? Polygamy has a reason which other non African nationals dont have however not every man in Africa is polygamous and even so the comment from ck puts it well

  1. How I wish this opportunity comes to me.
I will do my best until so longer as there is good feeding,I will not get tied.

    1. Oyogeza kayaasi!!!
There’s such a thing as excess. And too much of anything, however good, is not good for you.
One word comes to mind here: Greed, or as the Baganda have it, amaddu.

  2. This is absurd … how could he have gotten an erection multiple times for those five women unless he had Viagra than would it be rape??…
