Julie introduces Okot. Don't mind about the dress code

Julie introduces Okot. Don’t mind about the dress code

Northern region youth Mp, Okot Boniface is finally off the singles’ shelf and will never sleep like a priest again, Pepper Digital reports. Okot was last weekend introduced by one of his longtime lovers, Julie, to her parents in Kole district, Northern Uganda, Lango sub-region. News on the grapevine further indicates that the seed Okot planted in Julie has already germinated and soon it will bear fruits (read heavily pregnant). And moles say, with advice and pressure from friends, elders and well-wishers, Okot had to make it official. The function was reportedly planned and executed in utmost secrecy (for reasons well known to him and Julie) to an extent that even some of the couple’s friends are hearing and reading about it for the first time. The Youth Mp’s move has reportedly left some of the Ex-lovers contemplating suicide. He has reportedly been on many girls’ ladder. They have reportedly been more than ready to introduce him to their parents and not Julie. Some reportedly even reached a point of financing his campaigns hoping to catch his attention and eventually marry them but now can’t believe he has opted for Julie, a local youth leader in Kole whom they say is a villager and not of Okot’s class. Info on our desk further indicates that the most heartbroken is Priscilla from Ntungamo district, western Uganda. Friends say she has been on Okot’s neck to make it official with her. The dilemma for Okot, is that, according to friends, she has also started presenting signs of pregnant people but the man responsible remains a mystery. Could it be Okot? Could it be the reason she has been on his neck to visit her parents? Watch the space!

WIDER PICTURE

To understand why Okot’s move has left many female friends unsettled, we take you back to a story that was published some months ago.

Okot, using his social media platform WhatsApp, posted a group photo of all youth Mps-central (Agnes Kirabo), Western (Edson Rugumayo), Eastern (Bernard Odoi Onene Mutusa), National female youth Mp (Phiona Nyamutoro) and himself from the north. They were all holding portraits of themselves and reports indicate that it was Okot who sponsored them. It was captioned “In progressive solidarity.”

National female youth Mp, Nyamutoro would later also post the same photos captioned “Thank you Okot” accompanied by a red heart emoji, another by three red heart emojis with a drop and a third one with a smiling face with hearts. Emoji experts say (the one with a yellow face with smiling eyes, a closed smile, rosy cheeks, and several hearts floating around its head) expresses a range of happy, affectionate feelings, especially being in love.

The red heart emoji is used in warm emotional contexts. It can be used to express gratitude, love, happiness, hope, or even flirtatiousness. And a heart with a dot below forms a decorative exclamation mark. This gesture comes from the heart and emphasizes that you really like something or someone. While all this was going on someone was not at least amused and that’s Asingwire Esther, a former National Female youth MP Candidate. She competed with Nyamutoro but lost.

Sources say Asingwire had all along been eyeing Okot romantically and therefore she was not amused by Nyamutoro’s status gestures.

It is not clear whether Nyamutoro also had feelings for Okot but that’s what Asingwire reportedly interpreted. Asingwire reached an extent of demanding answers from Nyamutoro. “Does she now want to have Okot? Why put heart stickers/emoji? [on her statuses],” Asingwire complained to friends.
