Jinja – A Jinja based Pentecostal Pastor has revealed that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Flagbearer Yoweri Museveni will win the 2021 General Elections, like usual, with a bigger margin than some analysts predict.
Ugandans are set to vote on 14 January for a new parliament and president. Incumbent President Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power for over three decades, is facing other 10 contenders including musician Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine.
Addressing congregants at his Christian Mission Church located in Njeru Municipality Sunday morning, Pastor Samuel Lubega who revealed that Ugandans still have confidence in President Museveni also named ten winning grounds returning the latter in statehouse come 2021.
The man of God enthusiastically revealed that Museveni will be reelected because of championing Peace and security, Infrastructure, Youths and Women, Healthcare, Water & Sanitation, and Growth & Development. Other achievements include International & Regional Cooperation, Education, Transport and building the Economy.
‘’With the above major grounds, the Economy has expanded nine times, Poverty reduced from 56.4% of the population to just 19.7%,Electricity generation is now 1,254MW, up from the 150MW generated in 1986. Factories have also grown from 80 in 1986 to 4,920, paved road network increased to 5,500kms in 2019 up from 1,000kms by 1986. With these visible achievements, Mr Museveni will win this election ‘’, said Lubega who turned the session into campaigning for President Museveni.
The pastor also hailed Museveni for the good leadership which has enabled them to have freedom of worship and reminded Ugandans that in the 1970s, under the dictatorship of Idi Amin, a Muslim, many of Uganda’s Christians were persecuted and thousands fled the country.
‘’ Christianity is flourishing under the sympathetic government of Gen. Museveni and churches are everywhere. Churches have also positively impacted society through establishing projects like schools, NGOs, Hospitals, this is one of the reasons why we have to secure our future’’, Lubega told the gathering.
