The New Big League entrants Katwe United have renewed contracts of its 11 players in preparation for their debut season. Those contracts have been renewed include team Captain Reagan Mukwaya alias “Tulibanyivu” who guided the team to the Big League promotion last season. Others are Ssendiisa Nicolas, Ssemwanga Saul, Muwanguzi Benjamin, Shafiq Moses, Lwetute Denis, Lubowa Michael, Ssemwogerere Wasswa, Katumba Alex, Bukenya Moses, and Mulindwa Rayan.

The 11 put pen to paper on Friday at the club offices in Makindye. The terms and conditions and other details of the signed contracts remain confidential between the players and the Club. Head coach, Hassan Mubiru expressed confidence in his players affirming that they are in the league to compete.

“Whoever thinks that Katwe United is comfortable only remaining in the Big League is joking. We have bigger aspirations which we must achieve. We have never dreamt of being a mid-table team, no. We aspire to be on top and cruise to the Premier League next season,” said Mubiru.  Notably, the club is expected to unveil a number of new players next week to continue strengthening all its departments.

For the last three weeks, the team has been conducting pre-season training with the emphasis on circuit training at SEB Hotel for the first two weeks, intending to develop muscle power and endurance. Players engaged in squat jumps, dumbbell push press, knee lifts with medicine ball, crunch with lateral pull down and wall slides. The Allan Ssewanyana bankrolled outfit will host their FUFA Big League home games from Star Times Stadium Lugogo.Attachments area
