Arsenal train without captain Koscielny in Los Angeles

By Ayebare Mariam

Arsenal headed to the United States without their captain earlier this week, after Koscielny refused to travel as he pushes for a transfer away.

But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Co were all smiles as they acclimatized to the conditions ahead of next week’s opening pre-season friendly against Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Aubameyang was pictured with his arm around team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan as both men grinned, while Shkodran Mustafi also looked in good spirits.

Mustafi has been linked with a move away from Arsenal, but Koscielny going AWOL may force Emery to keep the German center back.

Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka were among the other star names who trained in LA, where the squad was watched by new technical director Edu.

Former midfielder Edu watched from a nearby stand alongside managing director Vinai Venkatesham and Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi.
