Operation Wealth Creation Bosses Fired
A number of top officials in the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) have been fired in circumstances that weren’t readily clear by press time.
Those fired so far include Head PR & Communications Sarah Kagingo and her colleague Maj James Nkojo. The two were fired largely because they refused to personally defend OWC Directors who are said to be under attack by political adversaries in the Constituencies they represented before.
The directors include Mbale Municipality’s John Wambogo, Budaka’s Sarah Kataike, Rubanda’s Henry Banyenzaki and Alebtong’s Rebecca Otengo.
Led by Gen Angina, the Directors sat last Wednesday at their Bwebajja Secretariat and in attendance were Rubaramira Ruranga, Henry Banyenzaki, Rebecca Otengo, Kataike, Wambogo, Gen
Kashure (for operations), Elly Kayanja, Wasswa Balikalege and Executive Assistant Godfrey Senyonga.
They unanimously voted to expel the duo following several media stories they were expected to rebut.
Also fired was Chief Economic Advisor Ramadhan Gobi (a MUBS don) who refused to comment when we rung him last night.
Sources say the OWC Directors were uncomfortable with Gobi’s free style each time he appeared mostly on KFM for talk shows.
“We expected him to defend the program but instead would make general comments showing the economy is in shambles,” said OWC insiders.
