Two Entebbe Drug Dealers Remanded to Prison

Julian Kimono of the magistrate’s court in Entebbe on Wednesday remanded two women of South African origin to Kigo Prison till December 5, after they were arrested by airport police in possession of drugs.

The suspects identified as Grace Onyia Golie, 65, and Nkcosolwaa Funiwe Abegail, 42, were nabbed in October by police with 3.7kg of cocaine worth Shs1bn and 0.8kg of heroine worth Shs221m respectively.

The two are charged in accordance with the new Narcotic Drugs section 41 (2) of Narcotic Drug and psychotropic substance control Act 2016.

Prosecution alleges that, the duo was arrested on 19 and 21 of November at Entebbe airport carrying drugs which are prohibited internationally.

Meanwhile, the same police on November 30, nabbed two more ladies, a mother and her daughter of Nigerian origin after they were found in possession of 5 kilograms of heroin estimated at Shs3bn.
