Surprise Performances Expected At Diva Iryn Namubiru ‘One Night Only’ Christmas Concert

There is excitement in Kampala as music fans gear up for what many are calling the ‘2016 Christmas concert’ that will see multi-talented songstress Iryn Namubiru set Kampala Serena Hotel on fire in a thrilling musical act.
This Friday, award winning Namubiru will be holding a mega concert dubbed ‘One Night Only’ at Serena with many of the city’s creme de la cream and a host of artists expected to attend.
According to information from the Birowozo singer’s camp, Friday’s musical act will be different from what her fans are used to it and will see her do a mix of her old and new hits.
“It’ll be a blend of old and new music by Iryn, featuring a band made up of Uganda’s most talented backup vocalists and instrumentalists,” a source who managed to access part of the schedule.
On Saturday, Iryn who begun the journey for female artists tweeted saying her ‘Nkuweeki’ hit…yes that one that had many if us believing that Ugandans can do it will set it off.

#Nkuweeki,” she tweeted on Saturday just to give fans a feel of what they should expect.
Former Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) boss, Maggie Kigozi, dropped a hint about the concert in a tweet saying, “Love this song. Promise to sing this 23rd “Happy”- Iryn Namubiru.”
We have also learnt that sexy radio and TV star, Flavia Tumusiime will be the MC of the night. Tickets go for Shs100,000, VIP Shs1,000,000 and Shs3,000,000 for VVIP in the concert sponsored by Bell Lager and whose red carpet experience begins at 6pm.
Namubiru did not achieve widespread success until 2006 when she released her album Nkuweeki?. This marked the beginning of her fast rise to be one of the best female musicians in Uganda. Since 2006, Namubiru has released several successful songs like “Y’ono”, “Lwaki”, “Bonna Obasinga”, “Begombeko”, “Birowoozo”, which have earned her several leading awards in the Ugandan music industry. In 2011, Namubiru capped her most successful year ever by winning in four categories of the 2011 PAM (Pearl of Africa Music) Awards. She won in the categories of Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best RnB Single of the Year
