Makerere University Vice Chancellor Ddumba Ssentamu has refuted claims that he is resigning.

On Tuesday evening, rumours circulated allover social media networks that he had thrown in the towel following a lot of pressure from the University Staff.

According to our source that is close to Ddumba and also a University Council member, the university Vice Chancellor has no intentions of letting go the university’s top post.

“It’s false, just talked to him a few minutes ago,” Source who preferred anonymity intimated to us.

Ddumba has not been in good terms with the University stakeholders who continuously cite loopholes in his leadership.

Various stakeholders accuse him of failing the University financially, a reason they believe is causing unending strikes at the East Africa’s oldest university.

It should be remember that since this year, the university has experienced various strikes from students, non-teaching staff and academic staff over salary and incentive arrears respectively.
