Court Orders Fred Ssebatta to pay Shs35m Debt

Court in Kampala on Friday gave the veteran Kadongo Kamu singer, Fred Ssebatta a 10 days ultimatum to pay back an outstanding debt of Shs35m to a money lender.

It has been revealed that Ssebatta borrowed the money from a money lending company belonging to Martin Muhumuza of Kizito Lumu and Company Advocates located at Rubaga Road and never paid back.

Ssebatta was dragged to court on 29th November, 2016 after he had failed to pay the money back for over two and a half years.

“I lent Ssebatta this money two and a half years back and he has since never made any attempts to clear the debt, he instead told me he cannot afford to pay me back, decided to give me a check but it bounced that’s why I decided to take him to court,” Muhumuza said.

Court has however order Ssebatta to clear the debt as soon as possible and pay the costs.
