Police Breaks Silence on Maj. Kiggundu Shooting

The Uganda Police has spoken out in regard to today’s shooting which left Maj. Mohammad Kiggundu and his driver Sgt. Mukasa dead.

The two have been travelling in an army double cabin registration number D03DF 071 when unknown assailants riding on a boda boda shot them dead.

The incident happened this morning at Masanafu in Wakiso district.

Talking about the incident, the police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi connected the murder to Muslim cleric murders who he believes are ADF rebels.

He has however called upon all Muslim sheiks to embrace the police protection availed to them.

Kawesi said the police have already begun the investigations, and the report will be availed soon.

Meanwhile, muslims have gathered at Kibuli mosque to mourn slain soldier who is also the husband to renowned traditional healer, Maama Fina.

He is expected to be buried later today.
