Simba FC Coach Eric Ndifuna hailed his players for the “Never say die” character after a 2-1 home against Sporting United in an Elgon group FUFA Big League tie at Masharik grounds on Thursday.
Martin Opolot gave home side lead early in first half before Ronnie Olulu leveled maters for the Visitors towards break.
Derrick Sendi Muyanja restored Simba’s lead after the break with a sole effort that ensured them stay unbeaten at home after five games.
Ndifuna was pleased with the performance of his charges- which he says must to be maintained.
“The start of the season was difficult, and with their reaction the boys showed character much needed to accomplish our season set target,” he remarked.
“It is important to have been consistently winning at home, but we need to get results from away,” added Ndifuna whose side is yet to register an away win. After nine games, Simba moved to fourth place with 16 points, five less of leaders Maroons FC.
