Muzata Attacks Government over Failure to Protect Muslim Clerics

The outspoken Kibuli Mosque faction spokesperson Sheik Nooh Muzata has attacked the government over failure to consider issues of Muslims as serious and provide them with reasonable security to the clerics.
“If government leaders do not take a deep look into the issues of Muslims, something more serious might come out” Muzata said this while at the burial of fallen Maj. Mohamed Kiggundu on Saturday evening.
Maj. Kiggundu was gunned down on Saturday morning with his bodyguard at Masanafu in Wakiso district by the unknown assailants who were reportedly riding on a boda boda.
Kiggundu became the 14th Muslim cleric to be gunned down following claims of supremacy fights within the Muslim sects.
Sheik Musaza said he will ask Clerics who are currently being guarded by bodyguards to return them to police because they are of no value.
“We have lost hope. If these assailants can kill a major in the army with guns… then anytime from now, Afande Kawesi, we are making arrangements to return policemen you gave to us for protection.” Muzata said.
Muzata went ahead to advise fellow clerics to better shop pangas and sharpen them for their own defense.
However, in response, the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Katumba Wamala, asked Muzata to retract that statement in harmony as soon as possible.
The police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kawesi assured the clerics and the general public that police will not rest until these assailants are caught and dealt with accordingly.
