By Serestino Tusingwire
Uganda Cranes has dropped down seven slots in the FIFA world rankings released on Thursday 20th October, 2016.
The Cranes which was previously the 65th is now the 72nd despite picking a remarkable draw away to Ghana in the 2018 world cup qualifying group opener.
Uganda is 19th on the continent.
The significant drop in points from 509 to 500 could be as a result of the 1-0 loss to Togo in an international friendly on October 4th just days before the Ghana draw.
Uganda’s AFCON 2017 and World cup 2018 qualifier opponents Ghana and Egypt follow each other on 45 and 46 respectively.
Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Colombia top the list.
