She went to Kabira International School for her nursery, and from the age of 11-18years, she joined a boarding school in London at St. Helens High School, before she joined City University in London, where she attained her Degree in economics and accountancy studies.
After her studies in London, she jetted back to Uganda. At the age of 21, she worked as Crane Bank’s cashier before she was elevated to the level of manager (currently, she is Crane Bank’s Development Manager)
Her other siblings include; Meera Ruparelia and Rajiv Ruparelia.
HOW THE TWO LOVER BIRDS MET
While attending a friend’s wedding in Kampala about eleven years ago, Sheena met Jay Sakaria who was also in attendance. The two had both come for a summer holiday from London. She claims that got to know him through her cousin who used to go with him to the same school in London. She got to know him after her cousin introduced him to her.
“Actually when I arrived at the wedding, I found him discussing with my sister then I asked her, “Who is this guy? She told me he is called Sakaria. Embarrassingly, he came and sat in front of me and that’s how we met for the first time, it was quiet a funny meeting!”
“In simple words, we just used to be friends and I could never imagine he would become my future husband because I was still young to think of that. In fact my whole family including my father, my mother, my brother, used to tease me about him. I remember one day we had a bet with people that we would get married and none of us believed it since he used to be my friend and sometimes my enemy to the extent that we even stopped seeing each other for two years but there was always ‘Chemistry’, Funny enough, my dream husband has always been him only that it took me long to realize it because everything about him is all I wanted from a man,” She said.
ABOUT THE UGANDA WEDDING
As it was the case with her elder sister Meera Ruparelia, after the London wedding, Sheena and her hubby shall again redo the wedding in Kampala as part of their celebrations in style. This means that for those who will have missed the glamorous London wedding shall have a chance to have a glance at the couple dressed in their gowns come October, 2016.
WHAT ATTRACTED SHEENA TO JAY
To be honest, I had a crush on him and also one time had a crush on me, we would at times dodge each other while in London but we ended up together though after sometime, things did not work and then, you know there was a lot of chemistry because he was my best friend but I would some time fight him but later I realized that he would accept me for who I was and I also ended up accepting him for who he was. After not seeing each other for so long (2yrs), when we met things seemed to be so perfect around us.
