‘General’ Gashumba Orders Military Police Over Brutality

Controversial Ugandan social media commentator on Sunday evening shocked some of his followers after he revealed that he had ordered soldiers of the Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF) to hand over keys to a boda boda cyclist.

Gashumba who has gained popularity on social media for his attacks on government said he was driving around the affluent Buziga suburb in the capital Kampala when he met the cyclist crying and pleading that UPDF officers from the military police unit give him his keys they had confiscated.

“This is unbelievable!! Today sunday evening, as i was driving around Buziga suburb, i found a boda- boda rider who was crying like a baby and pleading to a military police sodier who was beating him with a stick. He had taken and confiscated his motor bike keys and was forcing him to enter the gate of the house he was guarding so that they can beat him simply because the boda guy’ had stopped near the house he was guarding to drop a young girl,” Gashumba wrote on his Facebook page.

He added, “I immediately ordered the sodier (sic) to handover the keys back to the Boda-boda Guy.”
