Nansana Municipality MP thrown out of Parliament
Court has thrown Nsereko Wakayima (DP), MP Nansana Municipality, out of parliament.
High Court presided over by Justice Vincent Okwanga has today 20th July, 2016 ruled that Wakayima Musoke Nsereko doesn’t qualify to be MP for Nansana Municipality because he was nominated in error as his name appears nowhere in the voters’ register.
The Electoral Commission’s declaration that Wakayima Musoke was a winner of the highly contested Nansana Municipality MP seat was challenged in court by his rival Robert Sebunya.
It was not until today morning when the high Court officially threw Musoke out of Parliament and declared Robert Sebunya as a Member of Parliament, Nansana Municipality.
The number of MPs who have been thrown out of parliament is nearing 20, which put tension to almost every MP mostly those who still have court cases to battle.
NRM has been blamed for fronting unqualified candidates having lost 16 seats, but today’s blame is put to the electoral commission which nominated an illegible candidate and went ahead to declare him winner.
