On Monday evening, all roads for party animals in the city led to club Play for the 2016 women’s day event.
Vanessa Mdee, the Tanzanian songstress was the main act of the night…But Ugandan diva Cindy Sanyu dwarfed her musically.
The latter was the first to hit stage late in the night with a fully packed audience looking on, and she took the fans through her hits like Ayokyayokya, Sample dat, Ndi Mukodo and many more.
Cindy and her dancers put up a very energetic performance which later turned into an asset exhibition when one of the dancers flashed her southern territory for whoever cared to see.
After a very short interlude, the night’s MC Deedan Muyira invited the sexy Tanzanian diva on stage to which she turned up with two petite dancers clad in short denim pants.
She performed her most popular songs like Never ever and Nobody but me, in which she features South African rapper AKA.
Immediately after these two songs, the crowd ceased to groove to her other songs, which they clearly had no idea about.
Actually she performed only four songs and fled the stage, which is unusual for main acts flown into the country for such a big event.
Nevertheless, the crowd filled with celebrities seemed to have enjoyed the event since they were wiggling and shouting on top of their voices throughout the night.
Juice FM’s Franchesika Nyakaisiki aka DJ Xzyl did a very commendable job of keeping the crowd jiggy from the minute they entered up to when DJ Karo took over.
