Aya Dwarfs Sheraton, Serena on Fire Sex, Fireworks in New Year Splendour
It was a night of wild celebrations and drunken anarchy across Uganda as New Year revellers welcomed 2016.
While thousands of party-goers packed out pubs, hotels and clubs, others thronged Namboole, Kololo and Nakivubo for overnight prayers.
Also hundreds gathered at big hotels like Aya, Sheraton and Serena hotels to watch spectacular fireworks display as the Kampala’s top three five star hotels competed for the best display.
As many as 1,000 revellers crowded the Naksero Hill to watch the fireworks from Aya Hotel, the highest peak of Kampala. Aya Hotel sparkled with a spectacular show.
The hotel proved once again why its New Year celebrations are world class, with red bursts cascading off the top of the hotel and special effects transforming the iconic structure into a giant Aboriginal flag.
The Midnight fireworks’ saw a stunning explosion of colours as revelers cheered across hotel gardens.
Crowds were then sent into rapturous cheers and applause by the main event which was synchronised to a soundtrack by traditional dancers.
Aya used 100 different types of fireworks to create more than 1,000 explosions that lasted for more than 20 minutes, when other hotels have long run out of fire.
Many revellers braved the night till morning as they enjoyed lots of drinks and food.
As many as 1000 officers were stationed across the hotel as Kampala city heighten security to avoid terror attacks.
And indeed the event was a success as no incident was reported. In his speech, Aya Group chairman, Mohammade Hamid said the hotel will be open to the public this year and it will offer best services ever.
