Opposition Is Very Scared—M7

President Museveni has said the opposition parties are scared and have been rigging elections in Kampala and Kawempe in the past elections.

Museveni who is the National Resistance Movement presidential candidate while addressing supporters in Nakasongola said government is going to introduce voting by finger print to ward off more vote rigging.

“Opposition is very scared. They have been cheating in Kawempe and Kampala,” he said, adding; “We are the ones who were not prepared. Checking the register is number one, and then on the day of elections each candidate must have agents. ”

Promises

He said government will fight drought among cattle keepers by establishing bulldozers to build dams. Farmers will only be required to put fuel in the tractors.

“We have a lot of equipment from Japan; each district will have its own technical unit. At zone level like Luwero, there will be a bulldozer to build dams. All that will be asked of the cattle keepers is fuel to run the bulldozer,” he said.

Museveni promised residents that “Kasana Health Centre IV is going to be upgraded to a district hospital,” and constructing technical schools in each constituency.

He said more money will be injected in village SACCOs that are village based. “We have tried to create SACCOs at sub-counties, but I do not know why they are not working well.”

He noted that though National Resistance Movement has injected 33 billion in youth fund, more money will be apportioned to the project in the coming years.

  1. “We have a lot of equipment from Japan; each district will have its own technical unit. At zone level like Luwero, there will be a bulldozer to build dams. All that will be asked of the cattle keepers is fuel to run the bulldozer,” he said.

Very strange statement from a sitting president. If the equipment is available why hasn’t it been distributed? Does campaigning in the elections absolve M7 of his responsibility as president? This smacks to me of an exercise in barter trade reminiscent of school playground deals of “I’ll give you this if you give me that”. This is very juvenile politics, in my view. M7 wants power and the people just want to live a reasonable life. To hold them to ransom is the lowest of the low!!

  2. I am just speechless ! No comments these opposition parties should be banned. bribing and cheating is not allowed.

  3. He should be talking of retiring, no new ideas can come from him. Rule by patronage, stick wielding lumpens, tear gas, personalizing police and military, corruption, adventures in regional wars must end. Uganda sure has many great minds that can lead the nation to a better future. Youth would be naive to vote such a fella.

  4. He is obsessed with the opposition, nothing new to offer save for the empty rants. A maize meal here, a tractor there, a bulldozer the other corner! Now I understand why it is a disadvantage to over stay in Power. You completely run out of Ideas.Too bad for Uganda.
