The president advised the people to embrace commercial agriculture so that they can earn big from their produce.
“Traditional agriculture has no capacity to chase away poverty. Through large scale farming you will earn double from what you get from the small scale farming,” he said.

“Karamoja was never pacified even by the British. It remained in war. Uganda has never had peace like this in the last 500 years. The whole country is now peaceful. There is peace and development, what is remaining is fighting poverty,” he said.
The President also advised the youth to form groups that can help them solve the problem of unemployment.
“The youth should form agricultural associations so that we can support you,” he said. He also promised that electricity will be extended to Maracha, Koboko and Yumbe.
