I will not attend the NRM delegates’ conference—Mbabazi
Former National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General and prime minister who is now contesting for presidency has said that he will not hour the invitation to attend the party delegates’ conference slanted for October 30th.
Addressing media on Wednesday, the party secretary general Richard Todwong said NRM will invite its former secretary general Amama Mbabazi to attend the party’s delegates’ conference arguing that he is in Parliament on the NRM ticket and the party invites all NRM MPs
He said that they had also invited Jacqueline Mbabazi who is the chairperson of the women’s league.
However Mbabazi said that his wife will also not be attending.
“I will not be attending the NRM delegates conference slated for October 30th. Instead I will be focused on preparing for my nomination,” he said. “My wife Jacqueline will also not be attending.”
Jacqueline is sick
Mbabazi confirmed that the wife is unwell and undergoing treatment in United Kingdom.
“She is presently unwell and undergoing treatment in the United Kingdom. When I married my wife I made a promise that from that day forth, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health while we both live, I would give her full support,” he said
Mbabazi also noted he is “her primary helper” forcing him to take some time away from campaign activities in order to give her the support she needs.
