They are identified as Samuel Wako, Samson Akankwasa, Augustine Muwanguzi, Shaban Kayiira and David Kaweesi. The group was also found in possession of a Pistol and four motorcycles.

Lameck Kigozi, the Savannah Regional Police spokesperson says police acted on a tip off from a prospective buyer for one of the motorcycles who doubted its ownership when Samuel Wako, the intending seller failed to avail the required documents.

Wako later revealed his accomplices who all confessed to the crime.

Kigozi explains that preliminary investigations indicate that group members often masquerade as passengers and later use pistols to threaten their victims.  They will be charged with aggravated robbery and murder, he adds.
