The Confederation of African Football has named Sudanese officials to take charge of the the 2015 Nations Cup qualifier between Ghana and Uganda on 15th November at Namboole Stadium.
They include El Fadil Mohamed Hussein (Referee), Waleed Ahmed Ali (AR1), Mohammed Idam Idam Hamid (AR2) and Badr El Din Abdel Gadir Abdel (Reserve Referee). Asfaw Luleseged Begashaw from Ethiopia is the match commissioner.
Uganda must beat Ghana at Namboole to maintain their slim chances of qualifying among the top two in Group E for next year’s Nations Cup finals in Morocco. Ghana top standings with eight points, followed by Togo on six. Uganda and Guinea have four apiece with two games left to play.
But before that, the Cranes play Ethiopia this Sunday in a friendly that is meant to prepare them for next Saturday’s Afcon qualifier. Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic on Wednesday named a 26-man provisional squad to prepare for the two games. El Merrikh goalkeeper, Jamal Salim and Vipers’ midfielder, Keziron Kizito are the first time national team call-ups in a squad that also sees the return of Lweza midfielder Mike Sserumaga after over a year out of the set-up.
Skipper Andy Mwesigwa (Kazakhstan), goalkeeper Dennis Onyango (South Africa) and Portugal-based midfielder Kizito Luwagga – all not named on Wednesday – will not take part in Sunday’s friendly, according to Micho, but are expected join the team
