Kabugo’s forward forays capped a superb showing as part of a makeshift back four and he continues to show excellent progress since capturing Isaac Isinde’s slot alongside skipper Andy Mwesigwa and he is making the berth his own.

Cranes coach Militin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic told Red Pepper Online edition: “You can almost forget about him for 3 years, that’s his position, he will be a regular for Uganda and even turn professional.

“It all happened for him quite quickly since I gave him his first cap, with a big performance at CHAN in South Africa. He played really well against Togo and now Ghana and that’s what you can expect from him in the future.”

The Cranes must beat Guinea on Wednesday in Casablanca Morocco to qualify for the finals but if Guinea beats Togo, a draw will be enough to seal a place in the finals in Equatorial Guinea.
