Many hospitals and health centers in Uganda face the challenge of lack of adequate facilities and equipment to provide quality health services to patients.
In light of this challenge, Centenary Bank today, reached out to communities in Kamuli district by providing mattresses worth shs2.1 million to Kamuli Mission Hospital. The mattresses will be used by patients in the newly refurbished ward at the hospital.
The good deed is one of the activities that the bank is carrying out to mark its Kamuli branch customer week which started on November 03 and ends on November 7, 2014.
Hon. Salamu Musumba, the guest of honor and LC V chairman for Kamuli district lauded Centenary Bank for promoting better health services in the district by making the hospital a comfortable and conducive place for patients in the district.
Early this year, Centenary Bank also extended similar support to Bugiri Referral Hospital where it donated mattresses worth shs1 million to the maternity ward. The support followed a visit to the hospital by the bank’s team in Bugiri where it found that the hospital lacked mattresses and some of the available ones were very old and tattered.
