Kabale Police Stuck with Body of Rwandan National

Police in Kabale District is stuck with a dead body believed to be of a Rwandan national.

Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate says the body  was found lying at Kamuganguzi primary school playground in Ahamuhambo cell, Kisaasa parish, in Kamuganguzi sub county on the 29th of October 2014.

Maate says that on scrutiny, it was discovered that the deceased was Yohana Bahena, a resident of Kanima in Kaniga, Rwanda. Maate says that initial findings indicate that the deceased had mental disorders and might have died as a result of starvation.

The body now lies at Kabale regional referral Hospital Mortuary and nobody has turned up to claim it.

In a related development, the police are trying to search for relatives of an unidentified body of a suspected thief who was murdered by a mob in Hamurambi Cell, Butare ward in Muhanga town council.

The deceased was hacked to death on the 29th of October 2014 by a mob after he allegedly stole a goat belonging to an area resident, one Athur Twikirize. It is alleged that a search was mounted by locals after the goat went missing and they found the deceased trying to get away with it before lynching him.

The Police have moved in and arrested the owner of the goat Twikirize alongside Francis Bagambe, a 60 year old chairperson of Hamurambi Local council one and Emmanuel Twongyeirwe, a local resident.

Maate says that the suspects are to help police in conducting its investigations and finding the real people behind the murder.
